Research #1
One of the research topics i am doing is acceptance vs. tolerance. I chose this topic because i feel it is a big issue in our society and how students in THIS school foolishly joke about way too often.
As i was researching i found that one or many reasons that causes acceptance and intolerance issues between nations or individuals is that racism is use as a weapon  against each other.
My source :
http://www.globalissues.org/article/165/racismAnd here's what it states :
"Racism is the belief that characteristics and abilities can be attributed to people simply on the basis of their race and that some racial groups are superior to others. Racism and discrimination have been used as powerful weapons encouraging fear or hatred of others in times of conflict and war, and even during economic downturns.Racism is also a very touchy subject for some people, as issues concerning free speech and Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights come into play. Some people argue that talking about supporting racial discrimination and prejudice is just words and that free speech should allow such views to be aired without restriction. Others point out that these words can lead to some very dire and serious consequences (the Nazi government policies being one example)." And this is not just a issue in society HERE but as well as in Europe, The middle east, and some parts of Asia. This devastates trade partnership international relationships and influences industry to make fewer products and forcefully go on strikes until they have retained their respect in place of human rights despite of colors. The mentor text i plan on using "Terrible things" by Eve bunting.

Mother to son response

Mother to son is a unique poem that dedicates a mother's life elloborating on how she never gave up ever in her life through better or worse. It shows a unique pattern ; first i notice how langston hughes starts the poem off issues in the mother's life and lists them example : Life for me ain't been no crystal stair.
It's had tacks in it,
And splinters,
And boards torn up,
And places with no carpet on the floor --
Bare.
Then continues the pattern of signs of hope for ex.But all the time
I'se been a-climbin' on,
And reachin' landin's,
And turnin' corners,
And sometimes goin' in the dark
Where there ain't been no light.
so it really goes to show how hard her life must've been and then she finishes off the poem with a message from mother to son ex : So boy, don't you turn back.
Don't you set down on the steps
'Cause you finds it's kinder hard.
Don't you fall now --
For I'se still goin', honey,
I'se still climbin',
it really is a great poem and always has a thought to give the reader about every time he/she reads it.

Soicial issue

A very big issue i was browsing on my ipad yesterday was litering from ny times NY liters 36% in U.S alone ... tell me that that's not BAD! Litering ruins our envoirment and our habits one litter leads to another to another to another. This is a issue that not only wreaks nature of green but our furture. How can we liter on the world that other people need especially the next generation ; we MUST leave a prosperous life of green and purity for the next generation from grandfather to father to son. We can't just throw something away thinking it will eventually decay into ... "nothingness" here's the truth : IT WON'T ! there is no reason not to drop our garbage in a recycling bin in our city , seriously there are more than 800 bins here in brooklyn , how hard is it to find one and drop the trash. 30% of the litter are cigarettes ; even though people smoke in the first place there's absolutely no reason to drop it on the street. There is a simple choice we have for the future 1- continue to litter and throw away our envoirment to dust or 2- recycle , drop trash on trash cans and reuse and reduce so it's a simple future choice : BE PART OF THE PROBLEM OR THE SOLUTION.

Social Awareness

What is social awareness ? well , just today i was watching the news (pix 11) and stumbled apon the news on central park gathering of people in honor of place of muslims belonging here in the united states. They really looked determined to protect muslim followers' rights as they hang up their signs up proudly. That was a really brave thing they all did, but soon more people joined the cause and they welcomed all who would've liked to join the walk. But that gathering wasn't just for muslim rights and non-racism against them it was also about bullying of gay kids and how they have 100% right to choose relationships in the same gender. It was indeed a inspiring cause and sight and just seeing people joining hands in central park it made me wish I was there.

Appreciation draft

The lion, the witch & the wardrobe draft
                                                                   by Mohammad uddin 810

My personal experience with the lion ,the witch and the wardrobe was when I was in 3rd grade .When books like chronicles of Narnia widened my imagination.Characters like peter, aslan, the white witch & the professor showed me colors of characteristics of them ; the bravery of & remarkable leadership of peter and aslan, the cunning and chilling powers of the white witch and the open arms and wisdom of the professor, these characters stand for something in the book whether they stand for good of life like Peter, Aslan and the professor or whether they stand for evil in life like the white witch her servants or the fox.

When i think about the dialogue it's really interesting to see how everything is neatly in order that leads situations to other situations. For example: first the story starts off of how everything was chaotic in England because of the war that was happening  so their mother sends them to a place far off into a huge manor to live with a professor: And when they arrive, they discover the wardrobe that connects their real world into the world of fantasy. This dialogue is very interesting because it truly shows how the kids explore different places in time to time so it's really great to  see some exploring in the book that's part of the dialogue.and it's very interesting how they came to the manor because their home was under war and when they discover Narnia they later, in order to save Narnia must WAGE war so almost as if escaping war and then waging it to save a different world you've even seen.

Because i read the book it also inspired me to watch the movie that had just released in box office. When we watched the movie in school there were lots of details the movie had that the book didn't have and lots of details the book had the movie DIDN'T have one of those examples is (and i'm embarrassed to say this) that when the white witch sacrifices Aslan's life in his forfeit it's very sad how the servants and army of the white witch humiliates the lion and it almost made me sad. But still at the same time both movie and book were very enjoyable and easy to get into because both book & movie are so much alike with the storyline of their journey to narnia. Despite detail difference and so much thrilling.Although i do sometimes wonder how Peter, Lucy and Susan manage to forgive Edmund for his aid and promise to bring his brother and sisters to the white witch very most funny to me just for some Turkish delight which the white witch gives to him at the introduction of which and where they meet each other and that leads for the white witch into tricking him that if he brings his brother and sisters he will get more treats as well as them. And that's ANOTHER great part of the story dialogue i love : connections of storyline how one thing leads the kids to one thing to another then to another which eventually fits every pieces in the puzzle (the book/story).

Another good aspect of the story important to me and i  appreciate is relationships. There are so many relationships in the book : the relation ship Peter, Lucy, Susan & Edmund share the relationship beavers share with each other, the relationship aslan has with the white witch (apparently not a good one...) the relationship the horses share but one foremost important relationship to me i think is the relationship shared by Lucy and Mr. tumnus it really is important because they become good friends in such quick time and Mr. tumnus tells Lucy that he has to capture little kids in order of the white witch and he feels guilty and starts to cry and so lucy tellls him to stop crying and tells him it's all right so mr. tumnus feels really touched and helps her get out of narnia before the white witch captures her. When Lucy finds out that Edmund is also in Narnia he tells her he talked to the white witch and Lucy tells him that the white witch is evil. That leads to Edmund getting captured by the white witch and the kids rescuing him and then waging a war against the white witch in order to save Narnia. And so the story really is fast pacing and thrilling.

And that's why i would recommend this book to anyone who likes thrilling and exciting fantasy stories because it's not always about action ... no, it's more than that : it's also about how the book makes you realize how much you like it and come appreciate it because of all the characters and their role in the story they really DO give you memories and unforgettable moments of which you read the book or at least that's why I like this book and am writing this appreciation right now. And if you like characters who give you unforgettable childhood memorable imagination then i would definitely recommend this book to you if you haven't already read it.
